Have been pretty inspired to blog about these places I've visited after reading many food blogs. Of course I'm really no where near them, but well, doesn't matter! =) I think I really enjoy visiting different night haunts with interesting concepts for chilling out and relaxing (and okay, picspics and more pics-taking). Feeds my soul and makes me feel good! =) Looking forward to probably places like ChipBee Gardens, Sunset Way, Seletar AirBase, Hyderabad Road and all soon!
And so...these are those I've been to recently...
Oosh @ Dempsey Hill
I've always been visiting Dempsey for PS Cafe, and recently extended to trying B&Js and some coffee joint (forgot the name!). Have been always passing by Oosh when I used to walk in, so decided to give it a try this time round.
What was ordered: Lychee Freeze (or something), water that costed the same as the Lychee Freeze, Creme Brulee dessert (interesting to try...not bad!), and Potato Wedges (good value for money!).
This is the indoor place that is pretty cosy, save for the woody smell.
And this is the outdoor area!
Oosh really reminds me of the Serengeti Safari in Africa that I've watched Survivor challenge winners visit. This place made me decide that the Serengeti is defintely one of my must-visit locations one day...=) Romantic, quiet, good for the soul!There've been lotsa bad comments about the service of Oosh, but when I went there, I found their service pretty alright still. Not a bad choice to try, save for the price! Haha!
Marina @ Keppel Bay
I've always been drawn to this place coz of the friendly mixologist @ Prive Bar (hee, yep out dear friend!), 1st impressions really count! Of course, the ambience and sea breeze and yachts and lights and all really add to my positive rantings about this place. =)
Check out the beautiful lights! Very therapeutic for the soul...haha...for me it is lah! =p
I really wanted to laugh so much while this shot is being taken. Hee...okay lah, but kudos to a well-taken pic! *Clap clap...*

I'm always in favor of Keppel Bay: definitely my fave of all the night haunts! However, car access is most preferred, unless you don't mind romantic strolls from Vivo. Haha! For those who don't take to bars and alcohol, rest assured coz TCC upstairs has very friendly service too! =)
Max Brenner Chocolate Bar @ Esplanade
Have always wanted to visit this place, and now...finally! Expectations were pretty high...since it was chocolate, my fave food in this universe!

What was ordered: Waffles with Vanilla Ice Cream and Cherries (okay, I think I made it sound quite bad with my description of the name...oops!)
This is yummilicious and heavenly! The waffles must be eaten warm though...=) At $10, I find it a very good price! Be prepared to snatch if sharing...hahaha!
And the Warm Chocolate Souffle with Vanilla Ice Cream ($15).This is good too! However, I may be biased since I love all chocolate desserts that combine both the hot & cold, and especially those that ooze with hot chocolate lava when pierced...yum!

After all the calories, a walk along Esplanade will be good. I mean awesome. Take in the lights and cool breeze! Yay this looks so postcard-ish!

Certainly I don't find this place overrated, as much as people know about it, and it's great that it is so strategically located in Esplanade, near the river! The choc is good, only concern is the super duper overpowering chocolate smell permeating the air...kinda reminds me a little of Boon Lay MRT area...haha!

If you haven't really heard of this place, you are not alone. Located at Wessex Village @ Portsdown Road, this is a quaint British Colonial style place, which has only been discovered by the minority. Similar feel to Dempsey, just less chi chi but more pricey.

This is the outdoor garden patio, where you can find yourself surrounded by lotsa foliage and trees...some of them give off weird smells though...haha! =p
What was ordered: Black Cod, the Infamous Cicada Burger & Cheesecake of the Day.

However, if you are with one or two buddies and just wanna chill, this is the part I like. Check out the cool sitting arrangement! Basically, you just gotta remove your shoes and...
Plonk yourself down! Be prepared to feel like falling asleep in the comfy-ness of it all. Yep, that's my feet! Hee... 
Being a Dessert Bar, this place names their desserts as Mains and savory food items as Side Dishes. This is what was ordered...

What was ordered: Black Cod, the Infamous Cicada Burger & Cheesecake of the Day. I know cod is pretty pricey, but the $28.50 paid for this one is, sorry to say, in my opinion, kinda too much. The fish wasn't as smooth and 'buttery' like what cod is supposed to be like, when cooked well.
The burger was not a bad choice though, found it pretty good, and it was the same price as the cod. Comes with potato wedges and lotsa 'rocket-veggies-lookalike', that I was made to try.
Lastly, the cheesecake was served too frozen to eat, so everytime the fork was pierced through it, it basically crumbled. The strawberry sauce served with it was nice though.

Overall, bouquets to this place for their yet-to-be-really-discovered location, but brickbats for the price (15% discount with Amex though...) and the not-exactly-fantastic food. Being a cousin of Hacienda, probably more was expected...so I feel...kinda overrated!
2am Dessert Bar @ Holland Village
Heard of this place from a Channel 8/U TV program recently and decided to give it a try since not many places are open late in urban Singapore. If I remember correctly, the chef's a lady in her mid 20s! Cheerios to us women!
Basically, it's a pretty interesting place to visit. This is one section of the place. If you come in groups of 4 or more, then this is where to plant yourselves.

And this is my drink: Yuzu Pear Tea (basically pretty tasteless but if you can appreciate teas with a faint accent of flavor, this is it). Okay, I was laughed at for pouring my teacup to the brim as below. Funny meh?! Umm.
And yes! They do close at 2am, so do drop by! Dec 07: Christmas Party with W429...our biggest party yet! The glitz and glamour was certainly present @ Futuristic Zen 07! And yes, I'll remember the catwalks by you babes and hunks!
A fresh start to a new year in Jan 08: we came together, went food shopping @ Carrefour, prepared the food (where we realised the need to impart the skills of slicing and marinating meat was so evident for our gals...), and steamboat-ed together!

Truly, I just want to say thanks so much for all your love these 2 years. Like what we said, it's never too much a parting as it is a beginning of greater things to come, where you move on from glory to glory. Our friendship will always remain, the gals will always be my angels+sweeties, and the guys always the suave+smart+steady chaps I'm so proud to have. Before I end off (I know this is very long, but that's me and this is my blog!), I just want to specially thank Jamie, Cia & Val for your blog entries & tags that have really edified and encouraged me alot...you gals are really angels! I'll really miss you gals!
